Thijs van Leer, Jan Akkerman, Bert Ruiter and Pierre van der Linden accomplished the seemingly impossible: breaking through the Anglo-Saxon hegemony of the time with essentially non-commercial music based on virtuosity and great persuasiveness. Unfortunately, the band succumbed to silly conflicts and clashing egos. This book tells the story of a group of bold, top-class musicians who couldn't get along with each other, but on stage, they transcended themselves.
