Minute By Minute
Long hot night
Jan Akkerman and Candy Dulfer are among the guest musicians on this CD, originally released as "Timewatch" in 1989.
Ray Fenwick has described this album as a mixture of R&B and blue-eyed soul and that is quite accurate. Songwriting duties are split between Ray and Polle Eduard. The stand-outs include "Black and Blue" with its "Black Velvet" pumping bass line and "Katies Love" a beautiful instrumental featuring some empathic guitar figures from Jan Akkerman and some classy sax from Candy Dulfer. On this superior remastered version, we also get four bonus tracks with a version of 'Three Times Your Age' that is arguably better than the album track. The whole album hangs together better than most 'supergroup' projects with the quality of songwriting shining through, but there are also inspired contributions from guest artists as much as from Polle and Ray themselves.
