I really wanted to give these tunes to the public. I had been working on them for such a long time. But how, and with whom? On the other hand, I was hesitating on which aspect of my music should come first: the 'jazz' side, or the more 'melodic' side.
Then the record company generously proposed this line-up. Wow!!! Jim Beard, Alfonso Johnson, Rodney Holmes (Wayne Shorter's rhythm section for a year, just to mention a few things). I tried both aspects with them. Well, everything was a wonderful surprise (not surprising). Thank you Jim, Alfonso, and Rodney not only for your musical playing but also for your suggestions and your active involvement during the recording. And, thanks to Dreyfus Jazz.
